The Onboarding App guides businesses through a step-by-step setup process for launching their eCommerce store. From creating admin profiles and uploading branding to optimizing SEO, the flow ensures a smooth, structured, and user-friendly onboarding experience.

The Case

The Problem

Businesses often face friction and confusion when setting up digital platforms due to scattered steps, technical jargon, and lack of progress visibility. This leads to delays, incomplete setups, and poor first impressions.

The Solution

I designed an onboarding flow that:

  • Welcomes users with clarity → A simple, branded entry screen that sets expectations.

  • Guides with progressive steps → Profile setup, branding upload, SEO optimization, and completion.

  • Uses progress indicators → Step counters and progress bars to reduce uncertainty.

  • Provides clear input validation → Ensuring data is captured correctly (e.g., name formats, logo/favicon sizing).

  • Offers a sense of accomplishment → A completion screen with encouraging feedback to reinforce success.

My Role

As the UI/UX Designer, I was responsible for designing the end-to-end onboarding flow.

  • Collaborated with developers, product managers, tech leads, and stakeholders to ensure the flow balanced usability with technical feasibility.

  • Conducted research and validation with business users to identify pain points in existing onboarding processes and confirm the step-by-step approach.

  • Mapped user flows to minimize cognitive load while ensuring all essential setup elements (profile, branding, SEO) were included.

  • Created scalable design patterns for forms, uploads, and progress tracking that can be reused across other platform modules.
